Emergency Response
Our Mission
Relieve suffering following natural disasters, civil unrest, or famine around the world.
Our Approach
When local resources are strained or nonexistent, we provide short-term, life-sustaining resources such as food, water, shelter, and clothing, as well as medical, school, and hygiene supplies. This response is accomplished in partnership with local relief organizations and other international organizations. Under the direction of local leadership, volunteers for Latter-day Saint Charities help disaster victims recover by distributing supplies and participating in cleanup.
Hygiene Kits
Community members in the disaster area come together to assemble hygiene kits, which contain soap, towels, and other needed items.
Food
Latter-day Saint Charities delivers food supplies in response to the call for help from Church leaders in disaster areas. These supplies are usually assembled by volunteers at Church welfare facilities.
Volunteer Work
Latter-day Saints near the disaster are often organized into relief teams. These relief teams help clean up homes, parks, and other facilities. They help shelters with childcare, food preparation, and other needs.
